Tewaaraton Award

STANFORD, Calif. - Senior Kelsey Murray was named one of 25 finalists for the Tewaaraton Award, given annually to the top men's and women's lacrosse players in the country.

A 2018 team captain, Murray ranks atop the Pac-12 and 10th in the nation in points (81) and is 15th in the NCAA in points per game (4.76). She is also second in the league with 34 assists. 

So far this season, Murray has set six school records, and is six points away from matching her school record for points in a season (87). Since the season opener in February, Murray has set Stanford career records in goals, assists and games, assists in a game (twice) and points in a game (10).

A native of Wilmette, Illinois, Murray is Stanford's all-time career leader in goals, assists and points, and was named the Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year on Tuesday.

Murray and the 13th-ranked Cardinal head to Boulder, Colorado, this weekend for the inaugural Pac-12 Tournament. Stanford earned the No. 2 seed and a bye in the first round and will take on the winner of third-seeded USC and sixth-seeded Arizona State on Friday at 3 p.m. PT.
