STANFORD, Calif. – No 4 Stanford hosts No. 32 Utah in a Pac-12 men's tennis matchup at Taube Family Tennis Stadium on Saturday at 1 p.m. PT.

At 16-2, the Cardinal has matched its best start in 16 seasons, when the 2002 team also opened the season 16-2 and reached the second round of the NCAA Championships.

Stanford is 3-1 in the Pac-12, coming off a 4-2 victory at No. 14 USC last Saturday. The Cardinal's win over the Trojans was its first win over USC in Los Angeles since 2009.

Senior Tom Fawcett has moved up to No. 6 in the latest Oracle/ITA singles rankings released on Tuesday. He is 18-4 overall this season and 9-3 in dual play with all of his dual matches at the No. 1 spot. The senior has won his last four matches.

Freshman Axel Geller is No. 56 and junior Sameer Kumar checks in at No. 78 in the latest rankings. Geller is 15-4 overall this season and 13-3 in dual play. Kumar owns a 17-10 overall mark with a 9-3 dual record.

The Cardinal doubles team of Fawcett and Geller are No. 23 in the latest rankings.

Utah is 19-2 overall and one of two teams undefeated in Pac-12 play. The Utes are 2-0 in the conference, behind Pac-12 leader UCLA (4-0). Their two wins came at home against Arizona (4-3) and Arizona State (4-3) last weekend. Utah faces No. 34 California on Friday, prior to Saturday's match with the Cardinal.

Stanford owns a 35-1 all-time record against Utah, including a 4-0 win against the Utes last season on The Farm.

The Cardinal's final four regular-season matches are at home. Following Saturday's contest with Utah, Stanford will host California on April 13, Oregon on April 20 and Washington on April 21.
