STANFORD, Calif. – Junior Carolyn Lee kept No. 9 Arizona at bay for 6.2 innings before the Wildcats escaped with a 1-0 win over Stanford, Thursday, at Smith Family Stadium.
Lee (3-11) allowed just one run on five hits, while striking out four in a complete game against the Wildcats (39-13, 12-10 Pac-12).
Arizona junior Taylor McQuillin earned the win in the circle against Stanford (23-30, 2-20 Pac-12). She improved to 25-9 overall, allowing only four hits in the shutout.
Stanford and Arizona were both scoreless going into the sixth inning. With two outs and a runner on first, pinch hitter Hillary Edior roped a double to left field to bring home Ivy Davis for the lone run of the game.

Stanford had its chances, stranding five runners against the Wildcats. Redshirt junior Whitney Burks recorded the Cardinal's first hit of the game, a single in the third.
Senior Lauren Wegner doubled to lead off the fifth inning. However, with two outs, Wegner was caught stealing to end the inning.

Sophomore Teaghan Cowles and senior Arden Pettit tallied singles to open the sixth and seventh innings, respectively. The Cardinal was unable to generate any additional offense down the stretch.
Stanford will have a chance to even the series on Friday at 5 p.m. on Pac-12 Networks.
