STANFORD, Calif. – Sophomore Kathryn Plummer and freshman Sunny Villapando were named All-America Honorable Mention by VolleyballMag.com on Tuesday.
The honor is the first for the pair as a duo and the first All-America award for the Cardinal program this season.
As a duo in Stanford's No. 1 flight this season, Plummer and Villapando amassed an 11-5 record. Their 11 wins were third-highest on the team this season behind Morgan Hentz's and Amelia Smith's 18 wins and Courtney Bowen's and Kate Formico's 13 wins.
The pair's season featured wins over Arizona, Arizona State, Hawai'i, UCLA and Washington. In the duo's first set of road matches to open the season, Plummer and Villapando tallied wins against UCLA's Megan and Nicole McNamara and Hawai'i's Carly Kan and Laurel Weaver.
Plummer and Villapando were also named to All-Pac-12 teams this month, with Plummer earning first team honors and Villapando being named to the All-Freshman team.
