STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford men's rowing heads to Lake Natoma in Gold River, California on Sunday to compete in the Pac-12 Championships.
"The Pac-12 Championships give our team the unique and exciting opportunity to race six lanes across, against top competition including the top two boats in the nation, Washington and Cal," said head coach Craig Amerkhanian.
Last season, the Cardinal placed fourth as a team in the conference championship, with the varsity eight earning bronze among conference foes. The second varsity eight and third varsity eight boats recorded fourth-place finishes for Stanford.
Stanford will race three boats on Sunday, lining up the first, second and third varsity eight crews at the Lake Natoma course.
"Our boats will race hard and fight to help secure a qualification for the IRA National Championships in New Jersey," added Amerkhanian.
The Pac-12 Championships are the last regatta before the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championships for Stanford. The IRA selections will be announced in the week following conference championships racing.
