STANFORD, Calif. – Back-to-back mid-December games against Baylor and Tennessee highlight the 2018-19 Stanford women's basketball nonconference schedule, which was announced Thursday.
Tip times and broadcast information along with Stanford's Pac-12 schedule will be announced at a later date once television arrangements have been finalized. Every game this upcoming season will again be carried via GoStanford.com's audio stream with Kevin Danna and Tim Swartz splitting play-by-play duties.
Season ticket renewals for the 2018-19 campaign will begin in early July.
Stanford's nonconference slate peaks when it hosts Baylor in Maples Pavilion on Saturday, December 15 before heading to Knoxville to continue its storied rivalry with Tennessee on Tuesday, December 18. The Cardinal (No. 6), Lady Bears (No. 3) and Lady Volunteers (No. 9) are all high in espnW's way-too-early top 25 for 2018-19.
The season kicks off with five straight at home and starts with an exhibition against Vanguard on Thursday, November 1. The Cardinal will follow that up with regular-season games against UC Davis (November 7), Idaho (November 11), San Francisco (November 15) and Ohio State (November 18) before a trip to Honolulu for three games at the Rainbow Wahine Showdown from November 23-25. Opponents for that tournament have yet to be determined.
Stanford, which knocked off Gonzaga in its NCAA Tournament opener a year ago, will meet the Bulldogs on the road in Spokane on Sunday, December 2 before taking its customary break for final exams prior to its home date against Baylor.
Following its game at Tennessee, the Cardinal will continue north to play at Buffalo on Friday, December 21. The Bulls won a school-record 29 games last season and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history.
Stanford's pre-Pac-12 schedule wraps up when the Cardinal hosts CSUN on Saturday, December 29.
Stanford returns 12 letterwinners to a team that went 24-11 and advanced to its 11th consecutive Sweet 16 in 2017-18.
