STANFORD, Calif. -- Stanford's Elise Cranny earned her third Academic All-America honor and Tai Dinger his first as the Google Cloud Academic All-America Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country/Track & Field teams were announced Thursday.

Cranny was named to the first team, after earning a third-team (2016) and second-team (2017) selections. She is an 11-time All-America and carries a 3.87 GPA as a human biology major. Cranny holds school records in the outdoor 1,500 (4:09.49), indoor mile (4:31.29), and the indoor distance medley relay (10:52.02). She recently was awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. This year, on the track, she won the Pac-12 outdoor 5,000 title and the MPSF indoor mile crown, she was third in the NCAA outdoor 1,500 and fifth in the NCAA indoor mile.

Cranny is the only Stanford woman to earn the honor three times and the first first-team selection since Kathy Kroeger in 2012.

Dinger was named to the second team. He is an All-America who carries a 3.99 GPA as a molecular and cell biology major.

Both Cranny and Dinger were members of Stanford's cross-country teams that each placed fourth at NCAA's. Dinger also helped the Cardinal to its first Pac-12 men's cross country crown in seven years while earning Pac-12 All-Academic first-team honors.

The honors gives Stanford cross country and track and field its 30th and 31st Academic All-America honors, earned by 25 individuals.
