More Honors for Beck

STANFORD, Calif. – Freshman Brendan Beck was named second-team Freshman All-America by D1 Baseball, as announced Thursday.

Beck, a right-handed pitcher native to Corona, California, was named to the first team. He went 8-0 in 17 appearances, including 12 starts. In 66.2 innings, he finished with a 2.43 ERA while holding opposing batters to a .225 average and issuing just 12 walks. Beck carried a perfect game into the sixth inning of an 11-1 win at Texas on March 11.

It is Beck's fourth freshman All-America honor after earning first-team distinction from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, NCBWA and Perfect Game, also being named an All-Pac-12 honorable mention.

Beck helped the Cardinal (46-12) achieve its second highest winning percentage (.793) in program history and capture its first Pac-12 Conference Championship since 2004. Stanford's 46 wins tie for 10th-most in program history, while its 12 losses tie for the fewest in program history (min. 50 games).
