Zanolli Honored

STANFORD, Calif. - Sophomore Corinne Zanolli, who scored 10 goals and contributed three assists in Stanford's three games this weekend, was named America East Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday for the first time in her career.

After being held scoreless through the Cardinal's first three contests of the season, Zanolli exploded for five goals on Thursday against Ohio, in an 8-1 Cardinal win. Then, on Friday, Zanolli scored the first and last goals of a 4-1 Stanford victory over host Indiana. Zanolli wrapped up the weekend with a hat trick to help propel the Cardinal to an 8-0 shutout of Central Michigan on Sunday.

Zanolli is no stranger to America East honors. A native of Newtown Square, Pa., Zanolli was named America East Conference Rookie of the Year in 2017 for her stellar freshman campaign (she was named Rookie of the Week three times). Zanolli led the Cardinal last season with 16 goals, 10 assists, 42 points and 84 shots, and was also named to the America East Conference West Division Team and the America East All-Championship Team for her efforts in 2017.

Not only did Zanolli pick up conference honors for her eye-opening weekend, but she also moved into a tie for the national lead in goals (10) with Liberty's Agueda Moroni.

Stanford, which has been on the road for five of the first six games of the season, now returns to The Farm for a four-game home swing. The homestand begins Friday night at 7 p.m., when the Cardinal hosts Yale on the Varsity Turf.
