Fall finale

STANFORD, Calif. – Looking to close the fall campaign on a high note, the 28th-ranked men's golf team will compete in the 13th annual Golf Club of Georgia Invitational, Friday through Sunday at The Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, Georgia.

"We are eager to get back and finish the fall season off in a strong way," said Knowles Family Director of Golf Conrad Ray, whose squad tied for sixth at the event last year. "The team has been working hard and our internal qualifying has been extremely competitive. Our depth will help us in the long run and the team going to Atlanta is well prepared to play well. The Golf Club of Georgia and the field we will face are always a challenge, but we are fired up to get back there and win a trophy."

Stanford will be represented by seniors Isaiah Salinda and Brandon Wu, freshmen Ethan Ng and Freddie Lee, and junior Nate Menon.

Last year, the Cardinal combined for a 54-hole score of 16-under, 11 strokes behind winner Oklahoma State. Wu led the way by earning a share of 12th with rounds of 71-71-69, while Salinda tied for 54th.

This year's field is comprised of 14 teams, including No. 2 Duke, No. 3 Georgia Tech, No. 5 Alabama, No. 9 Wake Forest, No. 11 USC, No. 13 Texas and No. 15 Clemson. Eleven teams are ranked in the top-50.

The 54-hole tournament will be contested on the Lakeside Course, which measures 7,017 and plays to a par-72.

Stanford will play with Clemson and Duke on Friday. The Cardinal starts on the first tee at 10:20 a.m. ET with Menon leading off, followed by Lee, Ng, Wu and Salinda.

Stanford has claimed top-10 finishes in both of its stroke play events this fall. The Cardinal tied for eighth at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational and the Nike Collegiate Invitational.
