STANFORD, Calif. – Freshmen Jack Levant and Daniel Roy will represent the United State at next summer's 2019 World University Games, as announced Thursday by USA Swimming.
This past summer, LeVant (1:46.39), an incoming freshman from Southlake, Texas, set a world junior record in the 200-meter freestyle preliminaries at Phillips 66 Nationals, eventually placing fifth in the A-final with 1:46.46. LeVant was named Junior Swimmer of the Meet by SwimSwam with Stanford also earning a Team of the Meet honorable mention.
Roy (2:09.76), an incoming freshman from Spokane, Washington, finished sixth in the 200-meter breaststroke at Phillips 66 Nationals. Roy went on to win four medals, including two gold in the 400-meter mixed medley relay and 200 breast, at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships in Fiji.
The World University Games will take place in Naples, Italy, on July 4-10, 2019, and will feature 52 American swimmers.
