STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford will be well represented in Monday's singles semifinals of the ITA Regional Championships, with Emily Arbuthnott, Michaela Gordon and Caroline Lampl all earning berths.
Lampl battles California's Olivia Hauger in the top half of the bracket while Arbuthnott and Gordon will face off in the other semifinal. The meeting between Arbuthnott and Gordon is a rematch of last year's final, in which Gordon prevailed 7-5, 6-2 to capture her first career title.
Stanford has produced the tournament singles champion in seven of the last eight years, with Gordon following up previous winners Taylor Davidson (2015), Zhao (2014), Kristie Ahn (2013, 2010), Hardebeck (2012) and Nicole Gibbs (2011).
In the doubles draw, Niluka Madurawe and Kimberly Yee take on Washington's Stacey Fung and Nika Zupancic in the semifinals.
For the 12th straight season, Taube Family Tennis Stadium is serving as the host site for the region's premier fall tournament. In addition to Stanford, the ITA's Northwest Region schools are comprised of the following: California, Cal Poly, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Oregon, Pacific, Portland, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, San Jose State, Santa Clara, Seattle and UC Davis.
