Back-to-Back for Alade

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford middle blocker Tami Alade has been selected the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Alade averaged 2.38 blocks per set and hit .588 in wins over Colorado and Utah last week. The Sherwood Park, Alberta, native set a school record in the rally-scoring era with 15 blocks against the Buffaloes. She also posted eight kills on 11 errorless swings to hit .727. She followed up with four blocks and three kills in the sweep over the Utes.

For the season, Alade leads the nation with 1.75 blocks per set. She is also second in the conference with a .382 hitting percentage. Stanford has won 20 consecutive matches and remains in the driver's seat in the Pac-12 at 14-0.

It is the second career weekly honor for Alade and the 11th for the Cardinal this season. Stanford now has 115 player of the week honors all-time.

No. 2 Stanford con its four-match homestand this week with Colorado on Friday and Utah on Sunday.
