STANFORD, Calif. – Tanner Beason has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week for games from Oct. 29 – Nov. 4.

The honor is the second of Beason's season, the fourth of the year for the Cardinal and Stanford's 34th all-time player of the week selection.

Stanford clinched a share of its record fifth consecutive Pac-12 title with a sweep in Southern California against San Diego State (2-0) and UCLA (1-0). The Cardinal is the first Pac-12 school to win five consecutive conference crowns. UCLA won four straight from 2002-05.

Beason scored his conference-leading sixth Pac-12 goal of the season in Thursday night's 2-0 victory at San Diego State and led Stanford's back line to its ninth and 10th shutouts of the season. The Cardinal's 0.550 goals against average is seventh nationally and its 0.588 shutout percentage is sixth.

Stanford's center back leads the Pac-12 in nearly every offensive category in league matches. All of Beason's six goals this season have come in conference as have three of his six assists. He's two points clear of teammate Amir Bashti for the league lead with 15 points in conference.

The Cardinal (11-2-4, 7-1-1) is on 22 points through nine Pac-12 matches and can win the conference championship outright with a win or draw in its regular-season finale against Cal (6-9-2, 2-7-0) at home on Thursday at 6 p.m. Oregon State (10-4-3, 6-2-1) is in second with 19 points and has one game remaining at Washington on Friday. Stanford eliminated UCLA (10-7-0, 5-4-0) from the league championship chase with its victory in Westwood.
