STANFORD, Calif. – For the second consecutive season, Stanford outside hitter Kathryn Plummer has been selected the espnW National Player of the Year, the site announced Thursday.

Plummer was named to the AVCA All-America first team on Wednesday for the third straight season. She becomes the ninth Cardinal player to be at least a three-time first team pick. The two-time Pac-12 Player of the Year was also a back-to-back AVCA All-Pacific North Region Player of the Year.

A native of Aliso Viejo, California, Plummer has produced 30 percent of the Cardinal's kills this season. She ranks seventh in the nation in kills per set (4.76) and fifth in points per set (5.44). Her 10 double-doubles leads the team, and she has hit .300 or better in 14 matches.

No. 1 seed Stanford takes on No. 4 seed BYU in a national semifinal match today at the Target Center in Minneapolis. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. on ESPN.
