STANFORD, Calif. – Three Cardinal were named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Lightweight All-America team and head coach Kate Bertko was named the Lightweight National Coach of the Year, as announced by the organization Saturday.

Stanford's three selections, Isabella Garcia-Camargo, Brigitte Schmittlein and Shea Cours, are the most of any lightweight program. This is the fourth consecutive year that Stanford has placed three individuals on the CRCA All-America team. The Cardinal has totaled 31 CRCA All-America selections since the 2007 season.

Cours, a 2018 graduate, tallies her third consecutive All-America honor. The senior has coxed the lightweight eight for the past three years. Cours has won an IRA title in each of her four seasons on The Farm, serving as the coxswain for the lightweight eight as a sophomore, junior, and senior and the lightweight four that captured the 2015 IRA title as a freshman.

Garcia-Camargo, a sophomore, picks up her first All-America recognition of her career. As a member of the lightweight eight for the second consecutive season, she picked up her second IRA title in June.

Schmittlein, also a sophomore, tabs her first All-America honor as a Cardinal. She joins Garcia-Camargo as a two-time IRA champion in the varsity eight.

Kate Bertko picks up her second consecutive CRCA Lightweight National Coach of the Year honor as part of the Pocock/CRCA postseason awards. In two seasons at the helm of the program, Bertko has led the Cardinal to back-to-back IRA team titles, as well as back-to-back individual IRA titles in both the varsity eight and varsity four. Bertko was named the IRA Lightweight Coach of the Year in June.

The CRCA recognizes the outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains on the national level in women's collegiate rowing. Nominated student-athletes are evaluated on the strength of their team's national finish, coaches recommendations and 2,000-meter erg score. Nominees must be eligible student-athletes who have competed in their teams' varsity boat in 75 percent of races this season.
