LOS ANGELES - At the Bruin Diving Invitational at UCLA over the weekend, the Stanford women's divers opened the 2019 campaign with six top-five finishes, including two podium finishes from freshman Carolina Sculti. 

"Everyone performed well this weekend," said head diving coach Patrick Jeffrey, "and I was really happy to see where we are as we head into the bulk our of season." 

Sculti was the runner-up on the 1-meter and third on the 3-meter. She was tops in the 1-meter prelims with a score of 305.95, and then finished second overall with a score of 604.10. She earned the bronze on the 3-meter with a score of 650.50. 

On the platform, sophomore Mia Paulsen was third with a final tally of 517.00. Sculti was seventh in the event with a score of 464.40, and junior Haley Farnsworth was ninth at 450.05. 

Farnsworth's best finish of the meet was on the 1-meter where she placed third behind UCLA's Eloise Belanger and Sculti. Farnsworth finished with a score of 588.40, which was followed by freshman Daria Lenz's 585.85 as the Cardinal took the 2, 3, 4 and 7 spots in the event (Paulsen was seventh at 550.45). 

Paulson was also among the top five on the 3-meter with a score of 596.05. Lenz was sixth at 594.50 and Farnsworth was eighth at 575.65. 

Stanford women's swimming and diving will head to Arizona this weekend. The swimmers will open their 2019 season on Friday in Tucson against Arizona at 1 p.m. PT. The following day, the Cardinal will be at Arizona State at 11 a.m.
