Defensive Nod for Dagostino

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford libero Kyle Dagostino has been selected the MPSF Defensive Player of the Week for January 21-27.

Dagostino led No. 8 Stanford (7-1) to a pair of home wins last week over No. 15 Purdue Fort Wayne, averaging a team-best 3.14 digs per set.

In Friday's four-set victory, Dagostino registered a career-high 15 digs and had zero reception errors in 27 attempts. He followed up with a match-high-tying seven digs in Saturday's sweep.

It marks the first career weekly honor for Dagostino, and the fourth straight week a Cardinal player has been recognized. Sophomore Jaylen Jasper and senior Jordan Ewert garnered offensive recognition on Jan. 7 and Jan. 21, respectively, and setter Paul Bischoff took home defensive honors on Jan. 14.

No. 8 Stanford hits the road for the first time this season, traveling to No. 2 Hawaii for two matches at the Stan Sheriff Center, Feb. 1 and Feb. 3.
