STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford opposite Jaylen Jasper has been selected the MPSF Offensive Player of the Week.
Jasper hit .654 and averaged 3.17 kills, 0.67 aces and 4.33 kills per set in a pair of sweeps over Menlo College and UC Santa Cruz as the Cardinal opened the season at home.
The sophomore hit a career-high .733 with 12 kills on 15 swings and just one error against the Oaks. His .733 attack percentage was the highest by an MPSF player during the opening week. He followed up with seven kills on .545 hitting and three aces versus the Banana Slugs.
It marks the second career weekly award for the Annapolis, Maryland, native, who was also recognized as a freshman.
No. 11 Stanford plays host to No. 14 Ball State on Thursday in Maples Pavilion and No. 7 Ohio State on Saturday in Burnham Pavilion.
