STANFORD, Calif. - Junior Emily Arbuthnott has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week for Feb. 12.
Ranked No. 14 in the nation, Arbuthnott provided the clinching point in Stanford's victories against No. 18 LSU and No. 6 Texas at last weekend's ITA National Team Indoor Championships. The clincher against the Longhorns preserved a 4-3 victory while improving to 17-3 all-time in three-setters.
Arbuthnott, who has accounted for 21 clinchers among her 75 career victories, leads the Cardinal with an 18-4 record this season, while winning five of her six dual matches at the No. 4 spot of the lineup.
An ITA All-American in singles and doubles last year, Arbuthnott is also a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and paired with Michaela Gordon as the 2018 Pac-12 Doubles Team of the Year.
No. 1 Stanford (5-1) next hosts Santa Clara on Friday, Feb. 15 at 12 p.m.
