SAN FRANCISCO – Stanford sophomore Axel Geller was named the Pac-12 Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Geller was honored after winning two of his three singles matches and teaming with freshman Alexandre Rotsaert for a pair of doubles wins at the ITA National Indoor Championships.

Stanford earned a 4-1 win over No. 4 Florida and a 4-0 victory over No. 19 Tulane in the 16-team tournament, held in Chicago over the weekend. The Cardinal, 7-2 in dual action, dropped a 4-2 decision to No. 13 Virginia in its opening match of the tournament.

Geller, ranked No. 20 in the latest ITA poll, went 4-2 for the week. He defeated a pair of ranked opponents, cruising past Florida's Oliver Crawford (6-2, 6-1), ranked No. 20 in the ITA rankings, and Tulane's Luis Erlenbusch (7-6 [5], 6-2), ranked No. 42 in the latest poll.

In doubles action, he and Rotsaert defeated Tulane and Virginia, dropping four games combined in the two matches.

Geller, who has played all his singles matches at the top spot for the Cardinal is 5-3 in dual play. He and Rotsaert are 7-2 as doubles partners in dual action.

After five consecutive matches against top-20 opponents away from The Farm, Stanford will begin an eight-match homestand on Friday against UC Davis. The match is set for 2 p.m. at Taube Tennis Stadium.
