Four Earn Gold

SAN DIEGO – Four Stanford fencers earned gold medals Sunday in the NCAA Regional Fencing Championships hosted by UC San Diego at Rimac Arena.
 
Competing in six weapons with NCAA berths at stake, Samuel Kwong won men's sabre, Sean Strong won's men's epee and Lucas Orts won men's foil. Jeffrey Dalli placed third in sabre.
 
On the women's side, Madeline Liao captured the foil crown, with Woojoo Kwon earning bronze. In sabre, Carly Weber-Levine and Kaleigh Mentzer finished second and third, respectively, while Hanna Lee secured third in epee.

On Tuesday, qualifiers will be announced for the NCAA Championships, March 21-24 in Cleveland.
