CLEVELAND, Ohio – Stanford claimed 12th on Sunday in the NCAA Fencing Championships at the Wolstein Center.
The second of the two-day women's portion of the competition concluded, with freshman Hanna Lee placing 20th in epee, while sophomore Madeline Liao and graduate student Kaleigh Mentzer earned 21st in foil and saber, respectively.
"The competition was tough, but I'm really proud of our kids," said co-head coach Lisa Posthumus. "Now we start looking forward to next year."
The men's competition ended Friday. Sean Strong led all Cardinal finishers by securing sixth in epee to capture second-team All-American honors for the second consecutive year.
