STANFORD, Calif. - Sophomore goalkeeper Trudie Grattan became the first player to win three Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week awards on Monday, as announced by the conference office.
Grattan went 1-0 last week as she helped lead Stanford to a 15-4 Pac-12 road victory at Arizona State. She saved seven of 10 shots for a career-best .700 save percentage. She allowed just three goals in 53 minutes of action.
A native of Richmond, Virginia, Grattan also won the Pac-12's weekly defensive honor on Feb. 25 and March 4. In the two-year history of the awards, she is the first player to win Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week three times (in a season and career).
This is the fourth time this year that Stanford has won a Pac-12 weekly award, tied with USC for most in the conference.
Grattan and the Cardinal take on USC on the Pac-12 Network at 4 p.m. PT on Monday.
Tickets are on sale here for the Pac-12 Tournament, April 25-28, in Eugene, Oregon.
