Finishing Strong

TUCSON, Ariz. - No. 12 Stanford defeated No. 14 Arizona 3-2 in the Cardinal's last match of the Pac-12 South Invitational.

The No. 2 pairing of Tori Ashkinos and Courtney Bowen and the No. 5 pairing of Shannon Richardson and Blake Sharp collected the Cardinal's first two points. Ashkinos and Bowen finished first with a 21-10, 21-16 victory, followed by Richardson and Hentz prevailing 21-19, 21-13 win in straight sets.

Leading 2-1, Stanford (2-5) went on to clinch the match with another straight-set victory from Morgan Hentz and Amelia Smith, at the three.

Stanford begins its home slate next weekend with a pair of duals on Saturday and Sunday. Stanford takes on UC Davis at 11 a.m. and No. 11 California at 2 p.m. on Saturday, followed by No. 20 Saint Mary's at noon and San Jose State at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Sunday's matches will be aired on the Pac-12 Networks.
