Five Secure MPSF Honors

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford placed four on the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation all-conference second team, and five Cardinal were recognized overall.

Seniors Kyle Dagostino and Jordan Ewert were joined on the second team by sophomores Jaylen Jasper and Kyler Presho. Junior Paul Bischoff was an honorable mention selection. Stanford now has 102 all-conference selections all-time.

Dagostino, a fifth-year from Tampa, Florida, earns the first All-MPSF honors of his career. He is the only libero selected to one of the three teams this season. Averaging a team-best 2.02 digs per set, Dagostino ranks fourth in the league and 19th nationally. Additionally, he dished out 1.12 assists per set in conference matches. He has tallied double-digit digs in six matches this season, including a career-high 15 in a four-set win over Purdue Fort Wayne in January. He was twice named the MPSF Defensive Player of the Week this season.

Ewert closes out his career as a two-time All-MPSF selection after earning honorable mention accolades as a sophomore. The Antioch native ranked in the top 15 in the MPSF in kills (3.54; 6th), points (3.90; 9th), digs (1.66; 10th) and hitting percentage (.306; 14th) this season. His kills per set average is 20th in the country in 2019. The outside hitter posted double-digit kills in 19 matches, reaching the 20-kill plateau on four occasions. He is tied for the team-lead with four double-doubles, and registered career highs in digs (17) and blocks (5) this season. Ewert earned MPSF Offensive Player of the Week honors on Jan. 21.

Jasper is a repeat All-MPSF pick this season after earning first-team honors as a freshman. Having played both opposite and outside hitter in 2019, the Annapolis, Maryland, native is third in the MPSF in kills (3.73) and points (4.25), and ranks 12th in aces (0.25). His kills per set average is 13th nationally, while his points per set mark is 16th in the country. A two-time MPSF Offensive Player of the Week in 2019, Jasper registered a career-high 29 kills in a five-set win over USC on Feb. 14. It was the most kills by an MPSF player in two years. For the season, he had double-digit kills in 17 matches, including 20+ three times, and two double-doubles.

Presho, who hails from San Clemente, California, is also a repeat pick after landing on the honorable mention list last year. The middle blocker led the MPSF in hitting percentage in the regular season (.468) an ranks 10th in the league in blocks per set (0.82). Presho upped his hitting percentage to .507 in league matches. He hit .500 or better in 13 matches and had a career-high seven blocks three times. He has started all 51 matches he has appeared in for the Cardinal.

After missing the majority of last season due to injury, Bischoff has returned to the lineup this season to pick up his first career All-MPSF recognition. The Wheaton, Illinois, native, is second in the conference and sixth nationally with 10.27 assists per set. He has guided the Cardinal offense to the seventh-best hitting percentage in the nation (.316). The junior also ranks in the top 10 in the MPSF in digs per set (1.75; 8th). He is tied with Ewert for a team-high four double-doubles on the season, and earned MPSF Defensive Player of the Week on Jan. 14. He has registered career-highs in kills, digs and blocks this season.

Pepperdine redshirt senior David Wieczorek was tabbed the MPSF Player of the Year, while BYU's Davide Gardini was named the MPSF Freshman of the Year.
