STANFORD, Calif. - No. 20 Stanford swept its Saturday evening match against the University of San Francisco.
The Cardinal took an early 2-0 lead with straight-set wins at the one and two. Maddie Dailey and Amelia Smith, the No. 3 pairing, then clinched the match for Stanford, winning 21-11 in the first set and 21-13 in the second.
Stanford's Nos. 4 and 5 also recorded straight-set victories, to help the Cardinal to its 5-0 sweep.
Saturday's matchup marks the Cardinal's only one of the weekend. Stanford will return to its home court next weekend for matches against Cal Poly and Cal.
