STANFORD, Calif. - No. 20 Stanford fell to No. 7 Cal Poly and its rival, No. 11 California, in its last two regular season matches.
Stanford (10-16) began its Saturday afternoon at home with a match against Cal Poly, a team that the Cardinal had yet to face this season.
Tori Ashkinos and Charlie Ekstrom put Stanford's lone point on the board with a victory at the one.
The Cardinal's No. 5 pair, Chelsea Red-Horse Mohl and Shannon Richardson, fought back from a first set deficit to force a third. The pairing, playing together for the first time this season, ended up falling by 7 points in the third set.
Stanford returned to the sand later in the afternoon where they lost to California, for the third time this season.
The Nos. 1, 3 and 4 pairings all forced three set matches for Stanford before falling to the Golden Bears, 5-0.
Prior to its match against California, the Cardinal celebrated Courtney Bowen, the team's only senior, in a Senior Day ceremony. Despite missing the last month and a half due to injury, Bowen remains Stanford's all-time individual wins leader with 49 career victories.
Stanford will travel to Los Angeles to compete in the Pac-12 Championships on Thursday through Saturday.
