LONG BEACH, Calif. - Stanford sailing captured the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference (PCCSC) Coed championship over the weekend.
Stanford, which entered the week ranked as the No. 1 coed team in the nation, won its 10th consecutive coed conference title with 43 points. Santa Barbara was second with 68 points and Hawaii earned the bronze among 13 schools with 96 points.
The Cardinal clinched a spot at the Gill Coed national championships, May 28-31.
In the A division, skipper Jacob Rosenberg and crew Kathryn Booker and Meg Gerli finished first with 25 points. In the 11 races, the Cardinal amassed four first-place finishes and three second-place showings. UCSB finished second with 37 points.
Meanwhile, in the B division, Stanford won with just 18 points in 11 races. Skipper Jack Parkin and crew Taylor Kirkpatrick took the first six races and finished in first five times. Telis Athanasopoulos Yogo and Gerli competed in the final seven races and added two first-place finishes and two runner-ups.
The three ICSA national championship regattas are to be held May 21-31 in Newport, Rhode Island.
