Four Tabbed All-Americans

STANFORD, Calif. – Four Cardinal, Paul Bischoff, Kyle Dagostino, Jordan Ewert and Jaylen Jasper, were selected as honorable mention All-Americans by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Jasper is a repeat honoree, while Dagostino, Ewert and Bischoff are all being recognized for the first time. Stanford now has 71 All-America awards all-time.

After missing the majority of his sophomore season due to injury, Bischoff returned to the lineup this season and earned his first career All-MPSF recognition. The Wheaton, Illinois, native, was second in the conference and sixth nationally with 10.32 assists per set. He has guided the Cardinal offense to the eighth-best hitting percentage in the nation (.318). The junior also ranked in the top 10 in the MPSF in digs per set (1.73; 8th). He was second on the team with four double-doubles on the season, and earned MPSF Defensive Player of the Week on Jan. 14. Bichoff registered career-highs in kills, digs and blocks this season.

Dagostino, a fifth-year from Tampa, Florida, earned All-MPSF honors for the first time in his career as the Cardinal's libero. Averaging a team-best 2.08 digs per set, Dagostino ranked second in the league and 17th nationally. Additionally, he dished out 1.12 assists per set in conference matches. He tallied double-digit digs in seven matches, including a career-high 16 in in the MPSF quarterfinals against BYU. He was twice named the MPSF Defensive Player of the Week this season.

Ewert closed out his career as a two-time All-MPSF selection. The Antioch native ranked in the top 15 in the MPSF in kills (3.65; 4th), hitting percentage (.313; 7th), points (4.00; 8th) and digs (1.68; 9th) this season. His kills per set average was 15th in the country in 2019. The outside hitter posted double-digit kills in 20 matches, reaching the 20-kill plateau on five occasions. He led the team with five double-doubles, and registered career highs in kills (28), digs (17) and blocks (5) this season. Ewert earned MPSF Offensive Player of the Week honors on Jan. 21.

Jasper was a repeat All-MPSF pick this season after earning first-team honors as a freshman. Having played both opposite and outside hitter in 2019, the Annapolis, Maryland, native was third in the MPSF in kills (3.70), fifth in points (4.20), and ranked 14th in aces (0.23). His kills per set average was 13th nationally, while his points per set mark was 20th in the country. A two-time MPSF Offensive Player of the Week in 2019, Jasper registered a career-high 29 kills in a five-set win over USC on Feb. 14. It was the most kills by an MPSF player in two years. For the season, he had double-digit kills in 18 matches, including 20+ three times, and two double-doubles.
