STANFORD, Calif. – Sophomore right-handed pitcher Brendan Beck is the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week, as announced Monday.
Beck, a native of Corona, California majoring in science, technology and society, was unlucky not to earn the win in then-No. 2 Stanford's 3-2 win over No. 1 UCLA on Friday night, striking out five while scattering five hits over 7.1 scoreless innings. In seven starts, Beck carries a 2.05 earned-run average and has tossed 6.0 or more innings in five of those starts.
No. 5 Stanford returns to action Tuesday when it travels to face San Francisco at Dante Benedetti Park in San Francisco, followed by a three-game set against Washington at Sunken Diamond, starting Friday at 7 p.m.
