SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Stanford sailing won its 12th straight Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference (PCCSC) Team Race championship over the weekend.
The Cardinal finished the conference regatta with a perfect 15-0 record. Stanford's victory has qualified the Cardinal for the ICSA Laser Performance Team Race national championship regatta in May.
Stanford was led by skipper Jacob Rosenberg with crew Kathryn Booker, skipper Jack Parkin with crew Taylor Kirkpatrick, skipper Telis Athanasopoulos Yogo with crew Meg Gerli, and skipper Romain Screve with crew Sammy Pickell.
Stanford swept the first and second round robin, and in the final four, the Cardinal defeated Santa Barbara, Cal Maritime and Hawaii. Cal Maritime finished second at 11-4 and Santa Barbara took the bronze with a 10-5 record.
The three ICSA national championship regattas are to be held May 21-31 in Newport, Rhode Island.
Next weekend, the Cardinal heads back East for the Navy Spring regatta in Annapolis, and the Thompson Trophy regatta hosted by Connecticut College.
