STANFORD, Calif. - Senior Melissa Lord has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week for April 9, collecting her second honor of the season.
Lord contributed a pair of singles victories and teamed up with Niluka Madurawe for two doubles wins last weekend, as Stanford (16-1, 7-0 Pac-12) moved one step closer to securing the Pac-12 regular-season crown.
Lord (20-8 overall, 13-3 duals), who was also named Pac-12 Player of the Week on Feb. 26, is riding a seven-match winning streak while playing all but four duals at the No. 2 spot. Ranked No. 35 in the nation, Lord is seven wins shy of 100 for her career. A member of two NCAA championship teams (2016, 2018), Lord is 15-0 all-time in NCAA team competition.
A public policy major, Lord is also a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention selection.
The Cardinal visits Utah (Friday, April 12) and Colorado (Sunday, April 14) this weekend.
