NCAA Singles and Doubles Invites

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford sophomore Axel Geller and freshman Alexandre Rotsaert have been selected to compete in the NCAA Men's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships later this month.
 
The NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships will take place May 20-25 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
 
Geller was picked for both the 64-man singles tournament and the 32-team doubles tournament. Rotsaert was selected to compete with Geller in the doubles tournament and is an alternate for the singles tournament.
 
Geller owns a 17-7 overall record, including a 10-6 dual mark during his sophomore campaign. After missing a pair of matches with an injury, he returned to record clinchers in consecutive matches on the road against Oregon and Washington. The sophomore has played all 16 of his matches at the top spot during the dual season. He has been ranked in the ITA poll all season, with a current ranking of No. 13.
 
In his first season on The Farm, Rotsaert has compiled a 19-8 overall record, including a 12-7 dual mark in singles. The freshman has played all 19 of his dual matches at either the No. 1 or No. 2 spot. Rotsaert has been among the nation's top players all season with a current ITA ranking of No. 63.
 
As a doubles team, Geller and Rotsaert own a 13-6 record, including a 10-5 dual mark. The duo has played all its matches at No. 1 or No. 2 in the spring, with a 9-5 record as Stanford's top doubles team. They are ranked No. 21 in the latest ITA doubles poll.   
 
Last season, Geller played with Tom Fawcett in the NCAA Doubles Championships at Wake Forest . The duo dropped a first-round match in a third-set tiebreaker to Florida's Johannes Ingildsen and Alfredo Perez.
 
As a team, Stanford earned the No. 12 overall seed in the NCAA Men's Tennis Championships and will host Fresno State at Taube Family Tennis Stadium on Friday at 2 p.m. Texas Tech and UC Santa Barbara will also play on The Farm on Friday, with the matchup set for 11 a.m. The winner of the two Friday matches will face each other in a second-round match on Saturday at 3 p.m.
