Pac-12 Release Opens in a new window

TUCSON, Ariz. – Stanford fifth-year senior Harrison Williams, an NCAA champ, was named Pac-12 Men's Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Saturday in conjunction with the Pac-12 Championships.

Williams, a product design major from Memphis, Tennessee, carries a cumulative grade-point average of 3.66. He is the 2019 NCAA indoor heptathlon champion and has qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the decathlon May 11-12 in Austin, Texas.

Williams ranks No. 1 among Americans and No. 2 among collegians this year with 8,112 points, earned at the Bryan Clay Invitational. The total allowed Williams to break the Stanford record for the fifth time. Including the heptathlon, Williams has broken school multis records eight times.

He is the 2018 Pac-12 decathlon champ and is expected to compete in the pole vault, long jump, and 4x400 relay this weekend.

Williams is a five-time first-team All-America and a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic team selection. He is the eighth, and sixth male, from Stanford to be named Scholar-Athlete of the Year in track and field. No other school can match those totals. The most recent Stanford men's winner was middle-distance runner Justin Brinkley in 2016.
