Two Card at USAV National Camp

ATLANTA – Stanford's Amelia Smith and Charlie Ekstrom are participating in the U.S. Beach Collegiate National Team Champ this week in Los Angeles. The two Cardinal are part of a 16-person group of elite collegiate players from across the country invited to camp.
 
Throughout the week, Ekstrom and Smith will train and compete alongside their top peers in the sport. The Collegiate National Team program is considered a tryout for the U.S. Women's Beach National Team.
 
Ekstrom capped a strong freshman year on The Farm with a pair of All-Pac-12 honors after being named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team and All-Freshman team for the conference. In the conference's brief three-year history, Ekstrom joins Kathryn Plummer (2017) as the only Cardinal players named to both teams in the same season. Ekstrom tallied an 11-15 record for the 2019 season.
 
Sophomore Amelia Smith produced a 14-13 record this season, bringing her career win total to 32 in just two seasons as a member of the program.
