Team Honors

STANFORD, Calif. – The newly crowned NCAA champion Stanford men's golf team has announced its team awards.
 
New grad Isaiah Salinda was named the Most Valuable Player. He won two individual titles, collected a team-high six top-10 finishes, and led the squad in the stroke play portion of the NCAA's by tying for sixth.
 
Rising senior Henry Shimp was selected the Most Improved Player. He averaged 71.77 – third-low on the team, after averaging 72.35 last season.
 
Recent graduate Chris Meyers received the Tradition Award for leadership, work ethic, academic excellence and appreciation of the team and university.
 
For the second consecutive year, Salinda also received the Spooney Award that recognizes tenacity and a never give up attitude.
 
Rising sophomore Daulet Tuleubayev won the freshman scoring average award (73.65).
