Thirteen Named Scholar-Athletes

STANFORD, Calif. – While its play on the field resulted in its first NCAA regional appearance since 2013 earlier this year, Stanford's efforts in the classroom were most recently rewarded as 13 Cardinal were named Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes.

The Cardinal as a team registered a 3.525 GPA during the 2018-19 school year, while each player lauded managed a 3.50 GPA or better.

Stanford finished the 2019 season with a 33-20 overall record, including an 8-13 mark in the Pac-12 Conference. The 33 wins were the most in a season since 2013, and the winning record was the first for the Card since 2014. Stanford's eight Pac-12 wins were more than the previous four years combined (7), and the Cardinal secured its first Pac-12 series win since sweeping California from May 3-5, 2013. Statistically speaking, 2019 saw the Cardinal register the most triples in program history, as Stanford managed 25 to lead the conference and rank second in the nation.

The NFCA is scheduled to publish a press release announcing the Top 10 Academic teams in each division in October.
