STANFORD, Calif. – No. 3 Stanford's 2019 preseason continued with a 7-0 rout of Missouri on Sunday at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium.

Catarina Macario led the Cardinal with three goals and three assists, Abby Greubel scored with a pair of helpers and Civana Kuhlmann added two strikes while goalkeepers Lauren Rood and Katie Meyer combined for a shutout on three saves. Stanford outshot the Tigers, 28-5, while holding a 10-4 advantage in corner kicks. Six of Stanford's seven goals came in the second of three 30-minute periods before Macario's penalty kick in the third period put a bow on an impressive showing by the Cardinal.

Stanford had the first scoring chances of the day after Maya Doms won a free kick from 25 yards out in the second minute. Jojo Harber's well-struck attempt was saved and Sophia Smith was denied on the counter attack after Carly Malatskey released her through on goal with a perfectly-weighted through ball.

After a pair of half chances from Smith, including another free kick in the seventh minute, Malatskey teed up a late-arriving Bianca Caetano-Ferrara, whose left-footed effort forced a fine save to the goalkeeper's right in the 10th minute.

Smith had another opportunity in the 24th minute, beating the keeper far-post but rattling the woodwork. Moments later, the Tigers registered their first shot of the game, but Meyer made a fine save and did not surrender a rebound.

Stanford made wholesale changes to start the second period and wasted no time in breaking the scoreless tie. With the Cardinal counter attacking, Macario collected the ball on the left wing before picking out the run of Greubel, whose low drive found the side netting inside the far post to make it 1-0.

Moments later in the 35th minute, Kuhlmann doubled the lead. Beattie Goad slipped Kuhlmann through on the break and after her first attempt rattled off the far post, she buried the rebound to make it 3-0. Stanford kept its foot on the gas as Kuhlmann scored her second of the day in the 39th minute on another perfect feed from Macario, who notched her third assist in nine minutes.

Macario got in on the scoring, netting twice before the second break on 60 minutes. In the 43rd minute, Macario one-timed a cross from Greubel for her first strike of the day before doubling her return in the 59th minute. Greubel released Macario into a one-on-one on the right wing and the junior turned her defender before coolly slotting it inside the far post with her left boot to make it 6-0.

Stanford continued to control the contest in the final 30-minute period. In search of her hat trick, Kuhlmann rattled the crossbar in the 77th minute after Greubel picked her run into the box. In the 87th minute, Macario won a penalty kick and buried the ensuing spot kick, giving her three goals and three assists on the day.
