SALT LAKE CITY – Madison Haley scored twice and Catarina Macario continued her rapid ascent of No. 2 Stanford's history books in a 4-0 win over Utah on Sunday at Ute Soccer Field.

The Cardinal (15-1-0, 8-0-0) solidified its position atop the Pac-12 standings with a pair of wins on the week, upping its goal difference in conference play to 24-2. Haley added one assist, Macario scored her 20th goal of the season with a pair of assists, Sophia Smith pitched in one goal and one assist, and Katie Meyer made two saves to earn her fifth shutout of the season.

The Cardinal's shutout streak stretched to 707:38 minutes – Stanford has not conceded a goal since a 3-2 win at No. 3 USC (Sept. 28). Stanford also pushed its unbeaten streak in Pac-12 play to 38 games and sits two games ahead of Washington in the conference standings with three matches to play.

Haley needed less than five minutes to put Stanford on top, finishing her eighth goal of the season in the fifth minute with snow falling throughout the opening period. Smith teed up Sam Hiatt inside Stanford's half and Hiatt dropped a beautiful ball behind the Utes' (6-7-4, 1-4-3) back line into the path of Haley. Haley gained position on her defender and slid it past Carly Nelson from a narrow angle to make it 1-0.

Moments later, it was Smith's turn to register her eighth goal of the season. Macario and Haley orchestrated the build-up before Smith beat her marker and placed a left-footed shot into the side netting to double Stanford's lead after 17 minutes.

In the 50th minute, Haley and Macario combined to produce Haley's second tally of the match and make it 3-0. Macario set up her fellow junior after a nice one-two and Haley placed a shot between the legs of Nelson for the ninth goal of the season.

In the 74th minute, Macario capped another masterful performance with her 20th goal of the season, taking a perfect feed from Sam Tran and finishing to the left of Nelson.

No. 2 Stanford has three remaining regular-season games, starting Thursday when the Cardinal plays host to Arizona State at 5 p.m. Stanford then welcomes Arizona to The Farm on Sunday before its regular-season finale against California on Nov. 8. All three games will air live on Pac-12 Networks.
