ITA Northwest Regional Championships Singles/Doubles Draws
STANFORD, Calif. - Sangeet Sridhar concluded his impressive tournament run in the semifinals of the ITA Northwest Regional Championships on Monday afternoon.
Sridhar fell 6-3, 7-5 to California's Yuta Kikuchi, the event's No. 1 overall seed. Sridhar, who finished 12-6 overall and 9-4 in duals last season as a freshman, won his four tournament matches in straight sets.
For the first time since 2014, Taube Family Tennis Stadium was serving as the host site for the ITA Northwest Regional Championships.
Stanford's most recent ITA Northwest Regionals singles champion was David Wilczynski in 2015, outlasting Washington's Mitch Stewart 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 in Seattle. The last Cardinal doubles team to win it all was Sameer Kumar and Yale Goldberg in 2016, defeating Oregon's Jayson Amos and Simon Stevens 0-6, 7-6 (2), 1-0 (10) in Berkeley.
In addition to Stanford, the ITA's Northwest Region schools are comprised of the following: California, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Oregon, Portland, Portland State, Sacramento State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Seattle, Saint Mary's, UC Davis and Washington.
