STOCKTON, Calif. – Top-ranked Stanford stretched its winning streak to six games on Sunday afternoon by beating No. 3 Pacific, 11-8, at Chris Kjeldsen Pool.

Both teams entered with 10-1 records, the Cardinal handing the Tigers their only loss last week in Los Angeles, 15-14, in the semifinals of the SoCal Invitational.

Playing in front of a big crowd Sunday, Stanford trailed 3-2 after the opening quarter, but rallied for a 7-5 halftime advantage.

Pacific tied the match at 7-7 in the third, but Ben Hallock and AJ Rossman tallied early fourth period goals to lift the Cardinal to a 10-7 advantage and the Tigers couldn't catch up.

Tyler Abramson paced Stanford with three goals, three assists and one steal, while Rossman added three goals and one assist. Bennett Williams had one goal and two assists.

Goalkeeper Andrew Chun recorded eight saves.

The Cardinal resumes competition on Wednesday at Santa Clara at 4 p.m.
