In the first MPSF matchup of the season, the Cardinal (15-2) outshot the Trojans (10-4), 39-26 (.205), but fell victim to good defense and posts against physical and fired-up USC on Senior Day. Goalie Nic Porter recorded 20 saves for the Trojans, who held Stanford to a season-low in goals and trailed only once, 1-0.
Junior Tyler Abramson kept the Cardinal within striking distance by scoring four goals and senior Bennett Williams added two.
