The Council returns for its 53rd year this season. Join the Stanford Football family as a member of The Council for an afternoon of insight on the day prior to key matchups during the season. Hosted by Matt Doyle, each luncheon will feature coaches, players, staff, and an "alumni spotlight" to go along with raffle prizes and trivia. The Council, a tradition started by Bob Murphy more than 50 years ago, is a great start to the home game weekend for fans of all ages.
Our final Council of the 2019 season is scheduled for this Friday, Nov. 22, as we prepare to host Cal at 1 p.m. in the 122nd Big Game. Our featured guests this week will be John Lynch and junior receiver Connor Wedington
The Lineup
John Lynch - General Manager, San Francisco 49ers
A two-sport star at Stanford (1990-92), John Lynch went on to a 15-year NFL career and earned nine Pro Bowl berths. He is in the Bucs and Broncos Ring of honor. Following an eight-year broadcasting career with Fox, Lynch now serves at the GM of the 9-1 49ers.
Junior WR Connor Wedington
The Cardinal's leading receiver from Lake Tapps, Wash., Wedington is majoring in science, technology and society. He leads the team with 51 catches for 509 yards and is a member of the 2019 AFCA Good Works Team.
