SALT LAKE CITY – Senior Morgan Hentz broke the school record for career digs, leading No. 4 Stanford to a 23-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-14 win at No. 16 Utah, Friday, in the Huntsman Center.
 
Hentz registered her 13th dig of the match in the third set, breaking Gabi Ailes's (2007-10) record of 2,147. The Lakeside Park, Kentucky, native finished with 20 digs against the Utes, giving her 2,155 for her career and moving her into fifth place in Pac-12 history.
 
Stanford improved to 21-4 overall and 15-2 in the Pac-12 Conference. The Cardinal can clinch a share of the Pac-12 title on Sunday with a win at Colorado.
 
After recording just one kill in the opening set, senior Kathryn Plummer sparked a come-from-behind win in the second set to tie the match at 1-1. The outside hitter finished with 24 kills on .312 hitting, a season-high 15 digs to go with two blocks. The Aliso Viejo, California, native has 1,800 career kills and is 20 away from moving into sixth place on the Cardinal's career list.
 


Senior Audriana Fitzmorris hit .326 with 16 kills and five blocks. The opposite is now fifth all-time in program history with 583 career blocks, passing Foluke Akinradewo (2005-08) against the Utes.
 
Setter Jenna Gray finished two kills shy of a triple-double, totaling eight kills on .727 hitting, 49 assists and 10 digs. She leads the team with 10 double-doubles on the year.
 
Sophomore Meghan McClure collected a season-high 16 digs to go with six kills, four assists and an ace. Middle blockers Holly Campbell and Madeleine Gates combined for eight kills and nine blocks. Junior defensive specialist Kate Formico added five digs and matched her season-high with four assists, while junior Sidney Wilson came off the bench to tally two aces and two digs.
 


Utah was led by junior outside hitter Dani Drews's match-high 26 kills and 11 digs. Senior libero Brianna Doehrmann had a match-best 21 digs and seven assists.
 
Stanford continues its three-match road swing on Sunday at Colorado. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. PT on Pac-12 Bay Area.
