Four Earn All-America Status

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Naomi Girma, Catarina Macario, Madison Haley and Kiki Pickett have been named All-America by United Soccer Coaches, as announced Thursday.

Girma and Macario each earned first-team honors with Haley being named to the second team and Pickett being tabbed for third-team recognition. It is the third first-team All-America honor for Macario and the first All-America nod for Girma, Haley and Pickett. Stanford is the only Pac-12 school with multiple honorees and joins North Carolina as the only programs with four All-Americans.

Girma, a sophomore captain from San Jose who was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, has played nearly every minute of the season with two goals to her name. The Cardinal has earned shutouts in 13 of its last 17 matches and has allowed just 13 shots during the postseason.

Macario, the frontrunner for her second-straight MAC Hermann Trophy out of San Diego, leads the nation in virtually every offensive category – goals (32), assists (23), points (87), game-winning goals (12) and shots (149).
Haley, a first-team All-Pac-12 honoree who hails from Dallas, has career highs in goals (11) and assists (12) this season, having appeared in 22-of-23 contests for the Cardinal.

Alongside Girma on the back line, Pickett, a junior from Santa Barbara, California, has registered a career-high eight assists while earning first-team All-Pac-12 honors.
