Chalk Talk With Lauren Navarro

Lauren Navarro is a junior from La Verne, Calif., and competes in all-around. A bioengineering major, she was named one of Inside Magazine's 50 Most Photogenic Gymnasts in 2015 and 2016.

Who inspires you and why?
My youngster sister, Lana, because she looks up to me as an example and I want to set the tone for her, whether it be in the gym when we are working out together, when I am home, and in academics. She is always asking for advice and I try to set a good example in every aspect of life.

Fun fact?
I was on the 2015 U.S. National Team and was an alternate for the 2015 Pan Am team.

Favorite Netflix (Hulu, HBOnow, etc. show or movie)
Black Mirror and Prime is Power.

Favorite song lyrics or song that best describes you?
My favorite song is Heat by Chris Brown (featuring Gunna).

What is your favorite childhood memory?
Going to the Bahamas for the first time. I remember having such an amazing time with my family and got a chance to swim with the dolphins with my younger sister.

What is your dream job and what makes it so amazing?
To become an anesthesiologist. In general, I have a lot of interest in the medical field.

Favorite mode of transportation around campus?
My Sonders bike. It is very useful because Stanford is such a big campus and there are many hills. It is especially useful after a hard day of conditioning or cardio.

Go-to order at a café or coffee house?
An iced mocha with nonfat milk.
