STANFORD, Calif. – The Pac-12 Conference unveiled the 2020 football schedule on Thursday afternoon to complete Stanford's upcoming slate. The Cardinal will play six games at home, highlighted by a week three matchup against USC and a Thanksgiving week matchup against BYU. Stanford will also host Washington State on Oct. 17 for Reunion Homecoming.
In total, seven of Stanford's 2020 opponents went to bowl games in 2019. Oregon finished the 2019 season ranked No. 5 in the Associated Press Top 25 while Notre Dame finished at No. 12. The Cardinal plays both on the road this upcoming season.
Stanford returns an exciting roster full of experience after an injury-plagued 2019. Twenty-one true freshmen saw action during the 2019 season, including eight who started at least one game and 12 who played in at least seven games.
Six All-Pac-12 performers return, highlighted by two-time All-Pac-12 first team honoree Paulson Adebo. Adebo is joined in returning by All-America left tackle Walker Little, as both opted to come back to The Farm for their senior seasons in lieu of entering the NFL Draft. Adebo's 38 passes defended over the last two seasons are the most in the country.
Offensively, Stanford returns an explosive bunch, including its top four receivers who combined for 158 catches, 1,997 yards and 12 touchdowns a season ago.
The Cardinal play host to William & Mary on Sept. 5 to begin the season. In addition to the USC (Sept. 19) and Washington State (Oct. 17) contests, Stanford hosts Oregon State (Friday, Oct. 30), Colorado (Nov. 14) and BYU (Nov. 28).
Stanford's road portion of the schedule begins in week two at Arizona (Sept. 12), while the Cardinal will also play road games at UCLA (Sept. 26), Notre Dame (Oct. 10), Oregon (Oct. 24), Washington (Nov. 7) and California (Nov. 21) for the 123rd Big Game.
The Pac-12 Championship Game will be on Friday, Dec. 4 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev.
