Stanford enters the spring season as the No. 12 team in the country, and the third-highest ranked team in the Pac-12.
The Cardinal returns three All-Pac-12 honorees from 2019 in Axel Geller (first team), Alexandre Rotsaert (second team) and William Genesen (honorable mention). Geller was also an ITA All-America honoree.
The team is off to a 1-0 start after a victory over UC Davis, 4-0, including singles wins from Rotsaert, Sangeet Sridhar and Neel Rajesh.
The Sherwood Cup is an individual tournament with 32 singles players and 16 doubles pairs. The Cardinal will square off against opponents from USC, UCLA and Texas A&M.
Geller topped Rotsaert in an all-Cardinal championship of last year's Sherwood Cup.
Paul Goldstein, the Taube Family Director of Men's Tennis, stands just six victories away from becoming the third head coach in program history to reach 100 career wins.
