STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford and BYU announced a four-game extension to their future football agreement on Wednesday, bringing the series to eight games over the next 16 seasons. The series begins this season, when the Cardinal and Cougars square off on Nov. 28 inside Stanford Stadium.
The new agreement adds games on The Farm in 2026 and 2028 in addition to the already-announced home games in 2020 and 2022. Games at BYU were added in 2031 and 2035, in addition to the previously announced games in Provo during the 2025 and 2029 seasons.
The Cardinal and Cougars are scheduled to meet in the final week of the regular season in all four games to be played at Stanford Stadium during the agreement. In the final three games at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo (2029, 2031 and 2035), the two teams are slated to open the season against one another.
Stanford has won both previous matchups in series history, claiming an 18-14 victory on the road in 2003 and a 37-10 win at home in 2004.
